Sessions
This work is potent enough to alter the way your bones relate to each other, yet gentle enough for situations where other types of bodywork might be painful, or even unsafe--- post-surgery or injury, pregnancy, infancy, elderly and end-of-life.
Whole Body Therapy complements conventional treatments; my clients include doctors, their families, and referrals.
What is a session like?
Sessions take place on a massage table. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.
I begin by listening to what you have to say about what’s going on in your body.
Once you are comfortable on the table, I will begin listening with my hands. With compassionate and therapeutic presence I’ll follow the guidance your body offers moment by moment. The bodywork that emerges will continually reflect your body's unique course of healing--- the most efficient path to releasing pain, restrictions and dysfunctional patterns.
Disciplines I may draw upon, usually involving a light, yet potent, touch:
CranioSacral Therapy
Somato-Emotional Release Therapy
Polarity Energy Therapy
Compassionate Communication
What might you experience?
During a session, you may notice a wide range of sensations--- perhaps heat, tingling, tension releases. Some sessions emerge through stillness, others are accompanied by active physical movement. Some in silence, others with dialogue and emotions.
Because the autonomic nervous system is accessed and balanced, not only will you feel more at peace in your body, you’ll likely feel this reflected in other bodily systems and shifts. For example, your blood pressure may improve, gut issues may resolve, pain may disappear. These shifts become apparent as your body integrates the work, usually within a day or two. There are no negative side effects with Whole Body Therapy, so I invite you to experience for yourself what transformations can occur!
Number and frequency of sessions:
The number of sessions you will most benefit from depends on many factors. Your body will let you know where it's at with the healing process. I’m here to facilitate your process at the rate you feel is a match for you.
Generally, weekly sessions encourage momentum as you are working through specific issues. Regular sessions at longer intervals are great for maintaining balance and well-being.
